The S&P 500 will end higher on December 29, 2023. Although the S&P 500 experienced both gains and losses in the third quarter of 2023, and has been given various predictions, such as those of Morgan Stanley's Mike Wilson, who predicts tha it will fall to 3,900 by the end of 2023, making it the most bearish strategists on Wall Street; UBS has argued in mixed tune that the S&P 500 is expected to hit 4,700 points only by December 2024, rather than the middle of the year 2024 as forecasted earlier, rising interest rates and inflation have begun to weigh on the stock market, and the Federal Reserve's decision to raise its funds rate to a range of 5% to 5.25% in 2023 might have an influence on the stock market as well as the US debt relief and its economic impact (larkins,2023). The S&P 500 forward 12-month P/E ratio has declined in the previous three months to 18.1, which is in the 79th percentile (since 1985) and is a 2.3% premium over its 10-year average (Valetkevitch). I join the optimist experts in forecasting a market resurgence, given that government is working on restoring a favourable interest rate, the world collectively is seeking global peace admist this tension, eventually the market balances it self with the S&P 500 rising to at least 4288 by the end of the third quarter 2023.

The description asks for the close on Dec 28, but the last trading day of the quarter is the 29. Can you clarify which one we’ll go by? Thanks.

@deagol Ah you are right. 29 is early closure, but still trading day.

predicted NO

@XComhghall it’s not an early close either.

@deagol 'Bond market early closures'

I am now thinking myself … How did I misread that
