The 2024 Candidates Tournament will be an eight-player chess tournament, with the winner qualifying for the 2024 World Chess Championship match vs Ding Liren. It is scheduled to be held from 3 April to 25 April 2024 in Toronto, Canada.
Carlsen should be able to qualify for it simply because he is so far ahead in terms of ELO rating but he may opt to not participate in it.
