I currently use facebook to find local social dance events (and for messenger). I would prefer a non-facebook option, but they currently seem to be the place where most groups post about their events.

Unless your interests change widely or the event organiziers switch to another platform, I don't see you dropping Facebook.

So far, I am still using it as the main way to find events, with the website of a local organizer as the 2nd most common source of events.
