This claim is now mean-spirited x] seems like they just missed a deadline https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/1636835209587949570

@makoyass If you're the CEO of a company, don't announce something that you'll do something in a week if you don't actually mean it. It seems pretty clear that he said that Twitter would publish it, then went to the engineers and asked them to do it. That's the opposite order from how any well functioning company works, and that's what this market helped prove.

@Gabrielle Yeah, I guess the original deadline was fake and elon knew it. I'm not sure how I feel about elon's fake deadlines. Deadlines are usually fake.

How do you figure? I kinda get the vibe that the deadlines are like, a game that elonic engineers are playing. Like "Wouldn't it be cool if we could do that. Let's go for it." Elon: "You sure? Okay I believe in you, ganbatte." And then later "no hard feelings, at least you tried" (I rarely see any trace of blame or frustration on elon's face when he discusses the missed deadlines)

@Tetraspace What do you mean by an “open source” license? Does it have to be approved by the Open Source Initiative? What if it’s just source available but not licensed to be used by others?
