I bought ChatGPT Pro two weeks ago (/Soli/will-i-think-chatgpt-pro-is-worth-2) after my Cursor bill exploded. I needed something cheaper, and since then I’ve been surprisingly happy with it. For coding I usually prefer Claude, and whenever Cursor let me choose a model I almost always went with Sonnet 4.5. Today I decided to give Claude Max a chance and bought it too. Now I’m curious which one will end up being my favorite subscription and long-term coding agent over the next two weeks.

Claude Max feels like the more likely winner to me, but I have no idea how generous the limits are. Codex limits are insane, and I’m pretty sure OpenAI is not making money on me right now. If Claude Code gives me even half of that, it would be enough. At the same time I really love the ChatGPT app overall and especially Pulse. It keeps finding cool events near me and random stories about the city I’m in, so that also plays a role.
