Since the start of the World Championship in 1950, there have been 113 winners of official WDC races.

The last few new winners were:

  • 113 - George Russel (2022)

  • 112 - Carlos Sainz (2022)

  • 111 - Esteban Ocon (2021)

  • 110 - Sergio Perez (2020)

  • 109 - Pierre Gasly (2020)

  • 108 - Charles Leclerc (2019)

  • 107 - Valtteri Bottas (2017)

  • 106 - Max Verstappen (2016)

  • 105 - Daniel Ricciardo (2014)

Who will be the next new driver to add his name to the list of winners?

Market/resolution notes:

  • This should not matter for the market, but the current 113 figure is based on the official F1/FIA designations. So it includes winners of the Indy 500 when it was part of the WDC, it includes the years when F1 was run to Formula 2 rules and it excludes non-championship F1 races. To avoid ambiguity, my markets will always go by these official definitions!

  • The market will resolve to the next driver to win an officially designated Grand Prix which is part of the WDC. If there is an unsanctioned race or some form of breakaway series, a win there will not count.

  • A win in a sprint race will not count.

  • Please feel free to add more drivers to the market, especially if you think that the current winners will continue to dominate and you've got your eyes on an up-and-coming superstar from the junior formulae! The market will resolve to the name of a driver, so do not add an option like "an American woman" or "someone we haven't heard of yet". Do not add drivers who have already won a race - the market will not resolve to them.

Lando Norris finally gets his maiden win!

He was the favourite ever since the market opened and he's been running at 60%+ for the past few months, so this shouldn't be a surprise...

Who will follow him and join the list of winners?

Lando Norris

@SimonGrayson , We have a new winner.

If you don't think we'll see a new winner this year, it could be significant that Mercedes have a spare seat from 2025 and that we don't currently know who'll be taking it:
