Resolves as YES if there is a Dyson Sphere around the Sun on January 1st 2080, capable of harnessing at least 1% of its power output. This artificial megastructure must at least be distributed in a ring around the Sun (i.e. it cannot be focused as a single or small (<50) finite number of large structures occupying 1% of the available angles), although it does not necessarily need to include other orbits (e.g. polar). If it occupies a ring around the sun, then both a swarm or a single monolithic structure qualify in the context of this question.

@Velaris it takes a lot of energy to dismantle Mercury. There's only so much energy from the Sun that falls on Mercury and its local vicinity. We don't know if there is fusion fuel that we can use (eg. deuterium, helium 3, etc) on Mercury to make this go faster. There might be exotic fusion reactors in the future that allow you to just "fuse the hydrogen together" to generate energy. But otherwise to make things go faster with fusion you'd have to do things like ship in helium 3 from the moon which has its own bottlenecks.
@jks Talk it through with chatgpt if you want the actual points but it seemed confident and it isn't confident about anything anymore, it presents both sides of the argument wherever there is an argument to be made.
It could be biased to agree with whatever you ask it though with the right context building before the ultimate summary question, which is what happened with my chat.
