Despite various malfunctions, Voyager 1 remains the most distant operational space probe. As of September 2024 it's distance from the Earth is around 164 AU.
This question will resolve positively when either Voyager 1 stops functioning, or any other active man-made object will overtake it as the furthers object from the Earth.
"Operational" is defined as either a) being able to receive and follow commands from Earth, or b) transmitting useful data that is received and processed.
