Resolution criteria

This market resolves to YES if the anonymous author behind the Substack publication "Worst Boyfriend Ever" is convicted of a felony in any state or federal court in the United States (or an equivalent serious crime in an international jurisdiction) on or before December 31, 2029. Otherwise, this market resolves to NO.

For the market to resolve to YES, the following conditions must be met:

  • Conviction: The author must be convicted (either via a guilty plea, a no-contest plea, or a guilty verdict at trial) of a felony offense. Arrests, indictments, or charges that have not resulted in a conviction by the cutoff date of December 31, 2029, do not qualify.

  • Identity Confirmation: Because the author publishes anonymously (often using pseudonyms like "A Sensitive Young Man" or "James Guilty"), the identity of the convicted individual must be publicly and credibly linked to the "Worst Boyfriend Ever" Substack/book. This link must be established by credible media reporting, court records, or an official admission from the author on their verified Substack, Amazon author page, or social media accounts.

If no confirmed felony conviction of the author occurs by 11:59 PM UTC on December 31, 2029, the market resolves to NO.

Background

"Worst Boyfriend Ever" (WBE) is the pseudonym of an anonymous writer who gained notoriety on Substack and self-published the book Worst Boyfriend Ever: a Sensitive Young Man. The blog and book detail a lifestyle of drug use, infidelity, driving a van around the country, and highly explicit sexual encounters.
