I spoke with the Manifold staff and learned they do not have a definitive (enough) list of attendee home countries. Therefore I am going to do my best here given the info available to me, but if that strikes y’all as a massive mis-resolve please lmk and lay down your reasoning. I didn’t meet nearly everyone at the conference so I’m fully prepared to be wrong on this one.
Ok, so - because I could not confirm the attendance of anyone from India, Sydney, or some Other mid-Asian or Southern Hemisphere capital, and because Great Circle distances are topologically unintuitive to flat-Earthers (er… flat mappers), it turns out that Rome, Italy is significantly farther from Berkeley than Seoul, South Korea.

@ms "foreign-resident" is what OP has specified here, so it seems it probably has to be where they normally live and not just where they're originally from, though that's still a blurry line.
@chrisjbillington Yes, I am going for the country where they currently reside and (presumably) flew from / will return to after the conference. If they happen to have travel plans that are not direct from their home country, doesn’t matter. I am not going for birth country.
Moscow is further from manifest than Seoul, but I don't know if anyone travelled from Russia, whereas it seems someone did travel from Korea
