Resolution Criteria

This market will resolve to "Yes" for each team that is selected to participate in the 12-team College Football Playoff (CFP) for the 2026 season. The official selection will be announced by the CFP Selection Committee in December 2026. Verification will be based on the official announcement from the College Football Playoff organization.

Background

Starting in the 2025 season, the CFP expanded from four to twelve teams. The selection process will include:

  • The five highest-ranked conference champions.

  • The seven highest-ranked non-conference champions.

The four highest-ranked teams will receive first-round byes, while the remaining eight teams will compete in first-round games hosted by the higher-seeded teams. Subsequent rounds will be held at designated bowl sites, culminating in the national championship game at a neutral location. (ncaa.com)

Considerations

  • Conference Realignment: Ongoing changes in conference memberships may affect team standings and playoff eligibility.

  • Selection Committee Decisions: The CFP Selection Committee's rankings are subjective and consider factors such as strength of schedule, head-to-head results, and conference championships.

  • Performance Variability: Team performances can fluctuate due to injuries, coaching changes, and other unforeseen factors, impacting their chances of selection.
