On Thursday 8/24 I will be purchasing a head of green cabbage from a local grocer. I will leave this cabbage in the refrigerator. I will check on it every so often. If it ever gets to point where it is not something I would eat, I will feed it to my worm farm. The market resolves at that point where I have waited the full length a 53 days like @Mirek did in their market, posting daily updates and streaming on tiktok daily for the cabbage update. To put to rest the question at hand. Is this a market scam?

My TikTok is @keep_guessing57 and I will post a video tomorrow night 11pm MTN and do weekly updates with pictures on here.

@Alyxes the cabbage was stripped of its surrounding leafs and cut into two. And I ate some raw(it smelled like fresh cabbage) and I'm going to cook some later too

Are you allowed to cook the cabbage or do you have to eat it raw?

@BenjaminShindel this market is hilarious btw

@BenjaminShindel lmao thank you for the question. I'm eating it raw and cooked.

The cabbage still lives. I am sorry for the lack of pics or updates. Again, alot of personal issues are going on atm. @f may be able to give some pics as we a roomies. But we are a few weeks away from the meal of champions. I'll go live at least to eat it

Cabbage still hasn't been touched. Still seems edible but we won't know for a little bit!!

I'm sorry for being spotty y'all, due to some personal issues I'm my life I haven't been checking on the cabbage or updating y'all. But I saw it early today after realizing I've forgotten it and it still stands.

You should clean that fridge. Small chance it will reduce cross-contamination, large chance it will make your tiktok look nicer.

@AlyxesMcmanus My totally non expert experience is that vegetables spoil faster in a bag, so as someone betting on cabbage longevity, I'd argue for removal of the packaging.

You did not specify the temperature of the refridgerator.

There is a huge difference between +7°C and -7°C.

@KongoLandwalker I already asked - 35f. Link to their comment (you can also just scroll down).

Based on what criteria are you willing to eat the cabbage?

@drizzellifeb3000 the only way I'm not eating it is if it has mold. Otherwise we are going hardcore.

Also, what will the pack date on your cabbage be?

@RobertCousineau I don't don't know I haven't made it to the store yet I was going to do that tomorrow as that's when I begin the experiment as said in the description. We will get the newest one just in case he took preventative measures.

That makes sense - apologies for being overzealous. Good question and count me impressed by your fridge devotion!

@RobertCousineau no of course! I'm genuinely interested as someone who has grown cabbage and eats cabbage regularly (I even ferment it ☺️)I want to be sure to make this as thought out as possible. My roommate and I are making lists and talking about everyones questions as well as our own. Tis definitely a fascinating topic. The great Prigozhin Cabbage.🥬

What temperature is your fridge? Does it stay consistent (not typical for residential fridges). This is highly relevant (and unlikely to be the same between you and Mirek.

@RobertCousineau it is a temp controlled fridge that stays at 35 degrees fahrenheit. My roommate is a chemist and we will be using a lab thermometer to monitor the cabbage. We don't use this fridge, it will be dedicated to the cabbage. Only opened when we are live on TikTok or taking pics of the cabbage for Manifold (Wich we'll do while we are live for verification/trust)

@AlyxesMcmanus Nice!

Other major independent variables I can think of are the breed of cabbage (although Mirek's looked pretty normal). Also. I think they are in the EU and would have different pesticide rules, but am not sure how to fix that.

@RobertCousineau We are in the US, so if anything probably more preservatives

@RobertCousineau Im the chemist roomate btw :P
