Resolution criteria

The TIME Person of the Year is expected to be revealed in early December. The market resolves YES when TIME magazine officially announces the 2025 Person of the Year. Resolution will be determined by the announcement made on TIME.com and confirmed through major news outlets covering the announcement. The Person of the Year issue is typically available on newsstands beginning around December 20.

Background

TIME has named a Person of the Year every year since 1927. The magazine describes the title as not necessarily an honor or an award, but rather picks based on a person's influence and importance in a given year. Since 2000, TIME has crowned the winner of the presidential race as the Person of the Year.
