I've been told that it's possible to create a market that is unlisted at market creation (without API shenaigans). I don't see anywhere to actually do that. As soon as I'm informed how, I will attempt, and keep trying various "strategies" as they're suggested in the vanilla market creation window, until one works, or the market closes.
I will not bet NO in this market

@ian You can do it right after you make the market, but that's too late to avoid notifying your followers
@ian I heard about it today, and have been wanting a way to not notify my followers for a while (c.f.https://manifold.markets/JoshuaB/will-manifold-have-a-convenient-way?r=Sm9zaHVhQg). So to answer you question, “I guess I’m complaining,” but I was totally unaware of this being a feature
@JoshuaB do you want the market to be totally private and invite-only or public but with a silent creation?
@ian Public but silent creation is what I want. I thiink yesterday I was told verbally this was possible by creating it as unlisted. So I went to try to create an unlisted market, didn’t see a way and created this market
@JoshuaB I've made a market like this, so I know it was possible... I think they got rid of the option though for some reason :(
@ian FYI I used it sometimes (not a lot, but every so often) for creating markets that anyone can access that don't clog up notifications or the feed as much, and miss having the option.
@Conflux It sounds like what Joshua wants is to create a market without notifying followers, not necessarily an unlisted market. We want less options on the create page so have removed it for now. I don't see a strong case for adding it back
