We currently have 87 active subscribers.

They run Codebuff in their terminal as an upgraded coding agent!

Almost all of our users also use an IDE like Cursor, VSCode, Windsurf, etc. Many are startup founders and early employees that have tried lots of AI tools.

But they rate Codebuff fairly well:

We're planning to do our big "1.0" launch in March. How will that affect our number of subscribers? (We may switch to usage based pricing, in which case this will count people who have an active credit card)

Try Codebuff today!

In your terminal:
> npm install -g codebuff
> cd your-project

> codebuff

  • Update 2025-02-27 (PST) (AI summary of creator comment): Definition of Paying User:

    • For now, an active subscriber is equivalent to a paying user because payment is only available via subscription.

Potential Pricing Model Change:

  • There is a possibility of switching to usage-based pricing (which could include users with an active credit card), though it is uncertain if this will happen by launch.

I'm curious!

wait, how are you still at 87 active subscribers if you were on an "insane growth trajectory" 3 months ago :( ?

@dlin007 We had about 40 subscribers at that time, which was exponential growth over the ~2 months since our first launch.

Then growth slowed down a bit as we stopped marketing haha. We're also growing more recently!

is "active subscriber" == "paying user"? Just to clarify the data & judgement criteria

@Ernie For now that is true because you can only pay with a subscription. We might add usage based pricing (or maybe we won't get to it by launch). Sorry this is uncertain

It would be interesting to tie sign-ups to this market with a referral link or something. Would tell you about the ROI on a boosted market!

I still never remember the new name, in my head it's just Manicode and Jim Manico rocking out.
