Resolution criteria
This market resolves to YES if Bernie Sanders officially declares his candidacy for President of the United States in the 2028 election cycle on or before Election Day, November 7, 2028.
An official run requires at least one of the following:
Filing a Form 2 (Statement of Candidacy) with the Federal Election Commission (FEC).
A formal, public announcement of his candidacy (e.g., via an official campaign launch video, press conference, or official press release).
Forming an exploratory committee, being draft-campaigned by external organizations, or speculative media reporting will not suffice. If he does not officially file or declare by November 7, 2028, the market resolves to NO.
Background
Bernie Sanders (I-VT) ran for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2016 and 2020. In June 2026, during an appearance at the National Press Club, the Senator cast doubt on a potential third presidential bid, stating, "I suspect that's not going to happen... I know I look like I'm 30, but I'm not." He will be 87 years old at the time of the 2028 presidential election.
