 I definitely agree that it's an easy thing to be biased on, and I'm trying to do a good job of judging it fairly. I've changed the title to be a little less inflammatory, I'm offering a bounty to try to actually find people, and I'm spending a lot of time trying to engage with them. There are people who I would consider as intellectually honest in most other movements I disagree with, including communism, Christianity, the alt right, libertarianism, social justice, etc. so I don't think my standards are unreasonable.

I think you drew some of the actual criticism of the main market out, that there is xrisk, very real, and being on that side (Pause AI/EA?) is easier logically, and being in the opposite side is harder logically (more arguments to counter). That this might cause eacc people to avoid the logic of xrisk and go for the memes instead, like libertarianism memes might be the primary logic actually employed in any disagreement for one example. And the Singularity memes (kinda Fully Automated Luxury Gay Space Communism vibes no?)

Any group of people if large enough has intellectual and intelligent people which is why I don’t like this question or the fact that anyone should be the judge of who is intelligent or intellectually honest. It is so arrogant I want to 🤮

Obviously there are not one but atleast thousands of intelligent and intellectually honest people in EA. I am just making a joke.
