Women make up more than a quarter (28%) of all members of the 118th Congress – the highest percentage in U.S. history. Will the 119th Congress once again break this record?
For clarity, the market will resolve based on the number of women, not the percentage. The number of women in the 118th Congress will be based on the representatives and senators in office on Election Day 2024 (Nov 5th). That number is 151. The market will resolve based on which representatives and senators (not including non-voting members) are in office at the beginning of the 119th Congress on January 3rd, 2025. Anyone who resigns or dies before this date will not be counted.
