Refers to the new board after the November 29 announcement of Sam Altman's return.
Resolves YES to the month it happens, and for all subsequent answers added at the time.
Will add answers if needed.
Needs at least 2 new board members apart from Bret Taylor, Larry Summers, and Adam D’Angelo to count as the new board.

Bunch of new board members, I think remaining answers can resolve YES @HenriThunberg
https://www.cnbc.com/2024/03/08/sam-altman-rejoins-openai-board-company-adds-three-new-members.html
OpenAI on Friday announced its new board and the wrap-up of an internal investigation by U.S. law firm WilmerHale into the events leading up to OpenAI CEO Sam Altman’s ouster.
Sam Altman will also rejoin OpenAI’s board.
The new board members are:
Dr. Sue Desmond-Hellmann, former CEO of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, who is also on the Board of Directors at Pfizer and on the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology.
Nicole Seligman, former EVP and Global General Counsel of Sony and President of Sony Entertainment, who is also on the Board of Directors at Paramount Global, Meira GTx and Intuitive Machines, Inc.
Fidji Simo, CEO and Chair of Instacart, who is also on the Board of Directors at Shopify.
The three new members will “work closely with current board members Adam D’Angelo, Larry Summers and Bret Taylor as well as Greg, Sam, and OpenAI’s senior management,” according to a release.
OpenAI will continue to expand the board moving forward, according to a Zoom call with reporters.
@chrisjbillington Cool, also announced at https://openai.com/blog/openai-announces-new-members-to-board-of-directors which is what I prefer to go by.
I plan to count this, Reuters calls it a new board member not only in the headline but also in the text below. Would still need at least one more new member to resolve YES, though.
@HenriThunberg this is a report that:
executive Dee Templeton has joined OpenAI’s board as a non-voting observer as part of a broader boardroom revamp, Bloomberg News reported, opens new tab on Friday, citing a person familiar with the matter.
Even if an anonymous source is sufficient evidence for you, I think it would be quite unusual to refer to a non-voting observer as a board member. Boards primarily matter because of their ultimate authority over an organization, and if one can't vote, they don't have this authority.
Additionally, note that the news outlets did not refer to Templeton as a board member.
@Jacy let's hope it doesn't come to this distinction. I imagine most worlds where they announce new names it won't be one at a time.
Thanks for the comment, I think your points make sense and would be reasonable.
In the meantime, I invite others to weigh in.
@firstuserhere two new board members apart from the Nov 29th one, regardless of whether the sitting board members stay or not.
Maybe I should clarify title with date instead to indicate I am talking about the new one?
@HenriThunberg Yeah that's what I was indicating, because of Bret's latest tweet
Before taking on this responsibility, I had a full plate of commitments. As I have communicated to board colleagues and management, when these transitional tasks have been completed, I intend to step away and leave the oversight of OpenAI in the good hands of board colleagues.
