@firstuserhere ok perhaps, isnβt public. If metric is usage that should be enough, no?
@firstuserhere @chrisjbillington @deagol
Although we know that the company has announced that they made key breakthroughs in deploying LLMs on iPhones (namely, introducing new techniques for 3D avatars and efficient language model inference), they also quietly released a multi modal model as open source:
Ferret: Refer and Ground Anything Anywhere at Any Granularity - a Multimodal Large Language Model (MLLM) (arxiv) (github)
@firstuserhere note Jimβs comment below asking whether Bing and GPT were 1 and 2 of the list, and which Giga liked (their style of confirming stuff). That tells me usage/popularity seems key.
@firstuserhere I would find it extremely unlikely if it was a top 5 model of course and am not suggesting a YES resolution, merely providing a candidate that should be evaluated prior to resolution
@deagol I'm sure it has some capabilities! We'll resolve this in a sec, we're just doing our homework to make sure it's not the case that Apple released a groundbreaking AI smashing all metrics that we didn't hear about until now.
@deagol skimming through their paper, i don't think this is a top 20 candidate, let alone a top 5, and would happily endorse a resolution to NO
@chrisjbillington if it helps thereβs some discussion in related markets. of course diff criteria, eg:
