Based on latest publicly available figures for either platform (i.e. as shared by the companies themselves, not rumours)
If latest latest data is not available, I will wait until 1st March 2024 to resolve.

Is this equivalent to "it having more mau at the end of the year" not "by end of year"?
@StrayClimb not sure to be honest; I'll try to use judgement to get the best resolution here.
The intent is to capture whether or not, at any given moment in time during this year, Threads had more MAU than Twitter.
Now, it will be hard to get exact point-in-time MAU numbers for both platforms, but hopefully it won't be a terribly close call either way.
If I really can't tell, I'll close as inconclusive.
@GabiPurcaru possibly change question to: will threads have more mau than twitter at any point in 2023? Or add the additional explaination to the description. I feel like someone is going to not dig through the comments to find the way you are intending for the question to be understood.
@GabiPurcaru actually, I didnt realize there isnt necessaily a counter to check mau at anytime. I wonder wha the release schedule is for it. They'll probably release it close to each other cuz they'll expect the comparisons and want to size each other up
@higherLEVELING I'm open to suggestions. My preference would be (in this order):
official numbers like investor reports, if they are published
announcements from leadership team (e.g. Musk says "we've got X million monthly actives this month"
reputable industry estimates
