Off the shelf device and software- I shouldn't have to root the device or sideload with command line hacks. I have to be reasonable able to buy it as a member of the public.

Device should make it so that visually, ads disappear from my view. For example, while walking on the street if I look at a billboard with an ad, I wouldn't see an ad. I might see just a grey square, or a filler image, etc. It doesn't need to hide subtle ads like paid endorsements embedded in live YouTube videos; just still fixed images like signs, billboards, stickers, etc.

It can be AR, VR, passthrough or not, or other future technology. It can be neuralink although it's unlikely to be cheap enough.

If the ads are replaced by other ads, that's a NO. The goal is to not see ads. If the device removes the real world ads, but also adds other ads, that's also a NO. The point is that it should achieve something similar to the browser add-ones such as uBlock, adblock+, etc in their original intent - letting users of them not see advertisements.

How would "advertisements are replaced 50% of the time, with flickering and/or lagging on movement relative to the board" resolve?

predicts YES

For the people voting no, do you want a device like this but don't think it's possible? Or you wouldn't want something that changes your visual input in any way?

predicts NO

@Dave_9000ish I just think it's a very tough technical problem

bought Ṁ10 of YES

With renewed smart glasses interest I see this as quite possible

bought Ṁ3 of NO

important clarification:

how does this resolve if the advertisements ARE removed, BUT are replaced by virtual advertisements?

@jim Thanks, updated description to include that.
