Will the Giro d'Italia's calendar position change before 2030?

The Giro d'Italia in recent years has started near the beginning of May and finished near the end of May.

If the Giro organizers intentionally create a schedule with a start date on or before 22 April, or end date on or after 10 June, before 31 December 2029, resolves Yes.

Otherwise, resolves No.

I don't want a 2020 October Giro situation to influence the price of this market. If the race is originally scheduled for the normal dates and has to shift for one year because of an emerging situation, I'm not going to resolve Yes. If it kept the shifted schedule intentionally, that would be a Yes.

I am mainly interested in an intentional change to the schedule position from the UCI or the race organizer. Things like "Switch the Giro and Vuelta on the calendar", "Move the Giro to the fall", etc. If it moves by more than 2 weeks around its current May position, that's enough for me, because it would impact the classics or the regular TDF prep races.

A small shift of only one week, starting just at the end of April or ending just into June by a few days, is not enough to resolve Yes.

Some reasons the Giro d'Italia would benefit from changing the calendar position:

- More riders could do the Giro-Tour double if there was a larger gap between them.

- If the Giro was after the Tour, more riders would be able to use it as a 'second chance' race.

- It seems like it would be possible to run the Giro in the fall, especially if the World Championship dates moved.

Note that this question does NOT address ideas like "What if the Giro was only 15 stages but still in May"

Some reasons that the Giro won't move:

  • It has been here forever

@Eliza Some more reasons:

  • The Giro benefits from being the first GT of the year and the first GT hype

  • Right now, the races from RCS are spreaded quit well over the season. Big benefit for a small organization

  • ASO and RCS hate each other. Good luck, if you try to bring them together.

  • Right now just GC riders aren't able to do the Giro-Tour double, nearly everyone else is.

  • Why should WC move?
