Resolution criteria

This market resolves to YES if Convergence Magazine (formerly Organizing Upgrade) permanently shuts down, dissolves, or ceases regular publishing and editorial operations prior to January 1, 2040, 11:59 PM UTC.

Otherwise, this market resolves to NO.

Resolution rules:

• Confirmation of Shutdown: An official announcement of closure from Convergence Magazine leadership/editorial board, permanent dissolution of its governing operating entity/fiscal sponsor without a successor, or an absence of any new original editorial content across its primary website (convergencemag.com) and official communication channels for at least 12 consecutive months prior to the cutoff date.

• Rebranding / Mergers: A routine rebrand, change of primary web domain, or merger into another publication does not trigger a YES resolution, provided the editorial project or team explicitly continues publishing as a successor entity.

• If the outlet is still actively producing content or operational on January 1, 2040, the market resolves to NO.

Background

Convergence Magazine is an online political publication aimed at grassroots organizers, progressive activists, and the U.S. left. The outlet originally launched in 2009 under the name Organizing Upgrade as a forum for movement strategy and analysis. In early 2022, the organization rebranded and redesigned itself as Convergence Magazine.
