Resolution criteria

This market resolves to YES if at least one qualifying comic book, pop culture, or multi-genre fan convention takes place in the New England region during the calendar year 2027.

To qualify, the event must:

• Be hosted in the New England region, defined as the states of Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont.

• Have "Comic Con", "Comic-Con", "Comiccon", "Comicon", or "Expo" in its official name, or alternatively be a established comic/pop-culture-focused convention of equivalent scale (such as Fan Expo Boston, Rhode Island Comic Con, Granite State Comic Con, Terrificon, Wicked Comic Con, or Kids Con New England).

• Run for at least one of its scheduled days in 2027, open to the general public.

If all such scheduled events are completely cancelled, postponed beyond 2027, or otherwise do not take place by December 31, 2027, this market resolves to NO. Verification will be based on official event websites, their primary social media channels, or reporting on regional events directories (like Convention Scene).

Background

The New England region hosts several notable fan conventions. Multiple events are already planned or officially scheduled for 2027, including:

• Kids Con New England (Concord, NH): April 17–18, 2027

• Terrificon (Uncasville, CT): August 13–15, 2027

• Granite State Comic Con (Manchester, NH): September 17–19, 2027

• Fan Expo Boston (Boston, MA): December 3–5, 2027 (scheduled later in the year than its usual summer slot due to convention center renovations)
