@DismalScientist The "2023 - Air Quality Perspective in Delhi" from the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change shows an AQI of 209 for 2022 and 204 for 2023 https://pib.gov.in/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=1991970
@JanW Thanks! This seems trustworthy so resolving YES unless anyone shares a plausible objection in the next 24 hours
Seems like this is very strong evidence this will resolve to yes: https://energy.economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/oil-and-gas/delhi-breathes-easier-in-2023-best-air-quality-in-6-years-despite-novembers-haze/105640219
India won't improve in 2023, which is justifiable due to the persistent fundamental issues causing pollution. The city’s historical data indicates entrenched problems like vehicular emissions, industrial pollution, and seasonal agricultural burning, which are systemic and challenging to resolve quickly. In 2019, Delhi ranked with a PM2.5 reading of 98.6 µg/m³, putting it in the ‘unhealthy’ bracket of the US Air Quality Index. Additionally, the exponential increase in vehicle registration and population density exacerbates these issues. Without mentioning any significant new interventions or policies since 2019, it is reasonable to assume that the same factors will continue contributing to poor air quality in 2023.

Average daily AQI in 2022 vs. average daily AQI in 2023. Not sure if someone compiles this but I can pull the data and take the averages myself if necessary. Any concerns with this formulation?
@DismalScientist I think that's a good enough definition. Do you know the average of 2022 already, so we can check where we're standing now?
@ErwinRossen I don’t. I couldn’t find that on the site but I think they have an API so feasible to figure it out
