Google was recently found by a federal judge to have a monopoly in the search market. The US Department of Justice is reportedly considering splitting the company up, among other remedies, as a result of the ruling.
This market resolves YES if the DOJ gets the trial judge to approve a remedy involving selling or spinning off any of Alphabet's businesses. Resolves as soon as the initial ruling is made, regardless of the outcome of any appeal.
If no action is taken by the DOJ by close date, this market resolves NO.
