@EliG What I had in mind was whether humans might one day be modified not just for extreme low-light or infrared sensitivity, but potentially to generate their own light (like bioluminescent creatures) to illuminate their surroundings. That way, “seeing in darkness” could mean carrying the light source within the body itself.
