There are currently no Australian cardinals since the death of George Pell. Pope Francis is expected to appoint new cardinals this year (https://www.pillarcatholic.com/p/does-pope-francis-need-a-new-batch) . Will one of the cardinals he appoints be Australian?
Resolves yes if this year a cardinal is appointed who is a bishop of an Australian diocese (or eparchy, ordinariate, or similar), and no otherwise. In cases where it is ambiguous whether a diocese (or eparchy) is Australian (e.g. an eparchy that covers multiple countries), the location of the cathedral will be the decisive factor.

[New cardinals] include [...] the 44-year-old head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church in Melbourne, Australia, Bishop Mykola Bychok, named in a nod to the ongoing war in Ukraine.
@DanielFilan Note that his eparchy has a cathedral in Melbourne altho I think it might also cover New Zealand: https://catholicukes.au/eparchy/cathedral/
