Currently, Manifold shows the value of investments as their expected value assuming the probability is correct. However, this does not equal the sell value, because of price slippage. (Some people have complained about the phantom profits Manifold displays as a result.)
To resolve YES, Manifold must somewhat prominently display the sell value, in addition to or instead of the expected value, of each investment somewhere on the portfolio page (without having to click Sell and input the number of shares, like now), by end of 2023. It'd also be cool to see total sell value!
General policy for my markets: In the rare event of a conflict between my resolution criteria and the agreed-upon common-sense spirit of the market, I may resolve it according to the market's spirit or N/A, probably after discussion.
Something like this is what you are imagining, correct?
I presume for the purposes of this market this feature would have to take into account all the limit orders on a market as well? (currently the sell box seems to initially feature how the price would change ignoring limit orders and then it updates a split second later with the actual sell value) (I guess this also brings up the question of how this resolves if it takes a short amount of time to display the true sell value?)
@JoshuaB That’s correct. If it takes a few seconds to display that’s fine, just shouldn’t take clicks. I think.
