Used to love math contests, got bored as I got older. But this year I'm feeling a bit less bored of them and signed up for the AMC 12A. I plan to do zero prep.
To make USAMO, I would have to
qualify for AIME (see /Conflux/will-i-qualify-for-aime-this-year)
actually take AIME (ballpark 75% chance if I qualify. higher if I thought this market had any chance of resolving YES)
do well enough to qualify for USAMO (absurd. esp since I'd probably do zero prep for AIME. but how absurd? that's the main question!)
Two years ago, I took the AMC 10A and 10B and narrowly qualified for the AIME (which I abandoned in the middle to eat lunch, and needless to say didn't do that well on). I didn't take AMC (or even BAMO) last year.
General policy for my markets: In the rare event of a conflict between my resolution criteria and the agreed-upon common-sense spirit of the market, I may resolve it according to the market's spirit or N/A, probably after discussion.

I had a lot of fun taking the AIME! However, itβs generally held that you need >10ish correct AIME answers to advance. I solved 7 of the questions (and guessed on the other 8), but afterward it became clear that I made stupid errors on both Problem 1 and Problem 2, which is hilarious. But a luxury of not having a chance of making the next level is not having to care!
@GmailAccountde24 uhhhh sorry in advance for disappointing
