This market predicts whether I will transition from using PHPStorm to Cursor as my primary code editor by June 1, 2025. Resolution will be based on my personal confirmation of the switch.
I have used PHPStorm (plus the Jetbrains equivalents for other languages) professionally for many years. Two months ago I started experimenting with Cursor and for the last few weeks I have been using it daily. A few days ago I activated the AI Assistant 30-day-trial in PHPStorm. I will be comparing the two IDEs for the next weeks and then decide which one I prefer to use in the future.

So, a little feedback might be appropriate:
I really prefer the AI integration provided by Cursor. It seems to be integrated better and the agent is able to do more things, more reliably.
Still, the rest of the IDE is important, too, and I feel that here PHPStorm is miles ahead of Cursor, with many basic features needing to be added by plugins in the latter. Even with those plugins, the IDEs have a different level of "finesse", in lack of a better word
