Anysphere, the developer of AI-powered coding assistant Cursor, and Anthropic, creator of the AI language model Claude, have both seen significant growth and investment in recent years. This market predicts whether the two companies will announce a formal M&A before Dec,31, 2026. Resolution will be based on official announcements from either company's website or reputable news sources.
Betting NO. A full M&A between Anthropic (~$60B+ valuation) and Anysphere makes no strategic sense for either side. Anthropic already has Claude Code as their native coding product, and Cursor's multi-model approach (they use GPT, Claude, etc.) is fundamentally at odds with being owned by one model provider. Anysphere's investors wouldn't want a sale when they're growing fast independently. The companies are partners, not merger candidates.
