The K Line (also known as the "Crenshaw/LAX Line") is a light-rail line in Los Angeles (California, USA) running through various South Los Angeles neighborhoods and the neighboring city of Inglewood.
The first section of the line opened in October 2022. There are two additional stations currently under construction, LAX/Metro Transit Center and Aviation/Century, both of which are located along Aviation Boulevard near Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).
At the time of the initial K Line opening, construction of the Aviation/Century station was expected to finish in 2023, but both stations will remain closed until the automated people mover is finished between the LAX/Metro Transit Center station and the airport, which was expected to happen in 2024. Will these two remaining stations be open by then?
This market resolves to YES if both the Aviation/Century and LAX/Metro Transit Center stations are open to the general public to ride K Line trains at any point before the end of 2024 (using local time). Otherwise, this market resolves to NO.
Notes:
In order for a station to be considered "open," passengers must be able to both board and alight at the station.
The status of the automated people mover connection is not relevant.
I may trade in this market as usual.
LAX’s long-promised rail link, the People Mover, likely delayed until late 2025 (Los Angeles Times)
Because one of the K Line stations is intended to connect to the automated people mover, it seems unlikely that it will open this year.
