Resolution criteria

This market resolves YES if Abbas Araghchi is alive on June 1, 2026, and NO if he is deceased by that date. Resolution will be determined by official announcements from Iranian state media, international news sources, or other reliable public records confirming his death status as of June 1, 2026.

Background

Abbas Araghchi has served as the Foreign Minister of Iran since August 2024. As of March 20, 2026, he remains active in his official capacity, having participated in a news conference in Tehran on March 16, 2026, and engaging in public discourse regarding international relations and the ongoing regional conflict. Given the volatile security environment in the region, reports have emerged throughout March 2026 regarding the deaths of other high-ranking Iranian officials; however, verifiable news sources continue to attribute public statements and diplomatic actions to Araghchi as of late March 2026.
