This market resolves YES if Valve themselves confirm half life 3 is in development before January 1st 2026.
Update 2025-11-11 (PST) (AI summary of creator comment): The market will resolve YES if Valve announces a game called "Half-Life" (even without a number like "3") that is widely regarded as a sequel to the events after Half-Life 2. The creator will use their judgment to determine if this criterion is met.
Update 2025-11-17 (PST) (AI summary of creator comment): A prequel or side story will not qualify for YES resolution. The game must be a meaningful continuation of the events following Half-Life 2 (not just a brief story segment like the ending of Half-Life: Alyx).
People are also trading
As a zoomer, literally my only knowledge of the Half Life franchise is that there is no Half Life 3 but people really REALLY want there to be. For all I know the main character is called John Halflife and his most iconic line is "hehe, your lives are about to get halved".
With that in mind, my super reliable prediction is that in the original timeline it did actually come out, but it was sooooo bad (as many sequels are, think Game Of Thrones S8, Star Wars TLJ, Joker 2, Megamind 2, Jaws 4 etc.) that people invented time travel for the sole purpose of going back and preventing it ever coming into existence.
His name is Gordon Freeman, and heโs mute.
The rest was more or less correct though.
@snazzlePop I hear his only fear is kephalopods (they still only use 10% of the brain, but they have several brains)
@No_uh also as the biggest YES holder let me say that i was never big on any particular date in the first place other than sometime 2025
if you got any insider news don't say details, i think valve is canary trapping people
@Robincvgr yeah I agree. no insider news, but I had already decided to switch before @RuckermanPuzgd said something yesterday and needed to bait out some position to not bleed all my mana. I'm not convinced it's true, but I'm strongly leaning "it's possible" in a way I refused to consider before
@Stralor I will say I also feel like an idiot. I actually applied for a job with Valve recently for completely unrelated reasons and now it must seem like I'm some kind of clout chaser to them which is basically antithetical to how I operate. Terrible timing ๐
