Musk is desperately trying to cut costs, and I think that'll probably be true for a while. Twitter is a <$10b company that he paid $44b for. Seems unlikely.

@ASomewhatRudeParakeet TruthSocial is worth $250mm max. Plus he has already decided to bet the farm on bringing far right onto platform. Trump isn't going to Tweet unless he gets paid so Musk will pay him somehow.

@ASomewhatRudeParakeet Plus, it costs very little to shut it down post acquisition. He definitely needs it to go away for his strategy to work.

He may be able to buy it out of bankruptcy. Obviously he would shut it down immediately. The point is to buy Trump’s contract.

Musk has made it very clear that he thinks the permanent ban of Trump was a huge mistake because, as he put it, the result was half the country not trusting the platform. This is obviously ridiculous, but its what he thinks. This is the logical way to resolve that once and for all.
