Although felonies don't automatically bar you from office, it's likely that the court can order convicts of certain crimes like bribery to not run for office. 18 USC 201b. This applies to "any public official", ie if whatever happened is construed as trump bribing other Republicans then trump would be automatically barred under this statute

It's likely in any case a conviction on anything will bar trump from office.

@Conflux Absolutely there is. There are several ways to be banned from ever being elected to federal office. In fact if Trump is charged in the document case and convicted that is one of the statutory consequences.
