Personally, I don't think he was ever up to the job and the services have steadily degraded during his tenure. A change is LONG overdue. Will the Alphabet board make a change? Perhaps back to a founder?
No way. My man knows where all the skeletons are buried. It'll take something bigger than slightly underperforming.

@MP Way too much talent available right now. Bret Taylor is going to be running one of these companies one day, now might be his moment after he KO’s Musk on the Twitter deal.

Probably doesn't deserve anywhere close to 50%, he's survived a lot. Consider my M500 here at 50% a vote for him to go, rather than purely based on "real" expectation.

I don't think he has any chance of survival any longer now that his employees have turned on him. They are basically laughing at him on internal message boards and then leaking it to the media. He will never be able to regain his authority and should resign before he really fucks the place up trying to claw back everything he has let slip away these past few months.

I would believe if you told me Sundar was trying to get fired. This is one of the most disastrous weeks in company history. And here is more bad news about miscalculations on severance payments that it had to retract today. Ouch.

The idea that yesterday's blunder where the video was published with an erroneous answer is NOT the result of poor testing in advance of launch. It is a failure of leadership. Do you think Steve Jobs would have missed that detail?? Not a chance. Pichai was already unimpressive, but he now been embarrassed by Nadela on his own turf. He will be lucky to finish out the quarter let alone the year.

Todays failure should be the end of Pichai, especially after Satya Nadela executed flawlessly. Google should buy Twitter and put Musk in charge maybe?

@MP He lost $120B in an unforced error. I thought he was toast before today.

This feels high - he's been CEO since 2015 and I haven't heard anything about him recently. Are there reasons to think that a replacement is imminent?
