This should have been marked as correct, it was definitely a resolution of yours on New Year's 2023. 😉

I think my main goal for this year is to become significantly technically stronger and smarter in ways-that-matter than I currently am.

This will probably look like doing a lot of math and thinking about alignment research. It may also include writing distillations. However, one thing I really want to do more is following my curiosity to new challenges instead of forcing myself to do useful-seeming tasks.

To that end, I think I’ll give myself a lot of freedom to explore intellectually. I resolved to three answers that might look like what I’ll spend the next year doing, but I think the real New Year’s resolution is to follow my curiosity.
