On October 15, 2026, Tyler Tracy (@tylertracy321) predicted:

I predict that Anthropic is going to announce that they rewrote Linux around March 2027. I.e. they make a completely new OS that they start using for a majority of their agent work.

This market resolves YES if, by April 30, 2027, Anthropic publicly announces that it has developed a substantially new operating system and has begun using it for the majority (>50%) of its AI agent workloads.

To qualify:

  • The OS must be developed by Anthropic (independently or in collaboration with others).

  • It must represent a substantial replacement for Linux or a fundamentally new operating system, rather than a modified Linux distribution.

  • Anthropic must indicate that the OS is already being used for the majority of its AI agent workloads, not merely that it plans to deploy it.

This market resolves NO if:

  • Anthropic only announces improvements to Linux, custom kernels, containers, or sandboxing infrastructure without introducing a substantially new OS.

  • Anthropic announces a new OS but does not indicate that it is being used for the majority of its agent workloads.

  • No qualifying announcement is made by the deadline.

Resolution will be based primarily on official Anthropic announcements, technical blog posts, or documentation. Credible reporting may be used to clarify whether the criteria have been met.

The announcement does not need to explicitly mention "rewriting Linux" if the technical substance meets the above criteria.
