I think I'm addicted to sugar and I need to stop :(

Permissible sugar sources: fruits and dry fruits

Everything else is a NO:

  • Any food or drink whose ingredient list includes an added-sugar term (e.g., sugar, syrup, honey, HFCS, dextrose, fructose, fruit juice concentrate used as a sweetener)

  • Medically necessary prescription/OTC products are exempt

  • “Natural” sweeteners (honey, maple syrup) resolve NO.

how're you doing @waterlilly

Not going to lie, the sugar free life is actually GREAT. I don't crash in the afternoons like I used to 😵‍💫 it's also great really thinking about where all my food comes from. But it's also Halloween szn and I'm seeing so many fun candy options why is my life so hard

bought Ṁ50 YES

Don't make me regret this

@jamesl my aunt just made "doughnut holes in sugar syrup" and my resolve is REALLY being tested

@waterlilly Is your aunt taking applications for new nephews 🙋‍♂️

@jamesl no public application round but I think you're a strong candidate so send me your adoptme doc!

Hi! I am preparing for a work trip that will be in 10 days, I usually buy some protein bars in case of delays or urge to eat earlier because of jet lag, so do we consider that as added sugar: isomaltooligosaccharide (IMO), steviol glycoside? All "no-sugar" ones have them :(

Read wiki. IMO has low glycemic Index and "exerts positive effects on digestive health". SGs "do not induce a glycemic response when ingested, because humans cannot metabolize stevia". It seems that both do not mess with insulin level and brain response to sugar, but can influence sweet receptors' response

Wrote a big comment in my market

@klauwier WOW. This is super detailed. I carried fruit for my last flight LOL

How are you doing so far?

@klauwier great so far. 27 days to go 😭

Did you know that KFC's fried chicken has added sugar?

bought Ṁ2 YES

This is... difficult. I now see how much my house is filled with sugary things :')

@waterlilly for me some time ago it was FOMO that brought me back to sweets again and again. I decided to put all sweeties into container with a thought that I always can eat it later. It worked, even no one noticed that I quitted sugar.

@waterlilly also, may I join you? Maybe it can be more fun (and more possible to get YES haha) if done together

@klauwier YES! Let's do this 🤝🏼

@waterlilly lol now I have to throw away my dough I did yesterday with sugar

@waterlilly wow you have very extreme rules here. Ketchup has sugar in it, and my favorite chocolate has some sugar too. I thought it won't since it's dark. Interesting.

@waterlilly with breads it's much simpler: taste of a normal freshly baked bread is much much better. But I used to add a little of ketchup to a chicken as a marinade.
Also bought a lot of apples, raw meat, some vegs, that all surprisingly was cheaper than junk&sweet food
