Will there be a bump in the number of apps submitted to the app store (APPLE and GOOGLE PLAY) in Q3 2023? I'll run a hypothesis test to determine this with 1-sided 95% confidence interval on publically available data. One might think there will be an increase due to Copilot and GPT-4.

@tftftftftftftftftftftftf Can you please resolve?

What hypothesis test will you run?

Intuitively...No, because these markets are based upon existing participants and growth rate. I think in order for us to build a model where there was above baseline growth, one would have to be assuming something about the cost of making apps being suddenly an order of magnitude than previously. I don't think that's the case for reasons I have evaluated in this video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GMmIol4mnLo

@PatrickDelaney You think a model that helps programmers be 20x more productive will have no impact on the cost in time or capital of making apps?

predictedNO

@tftftftftftftftftftftftf what I think is...the claim that it helps programmers be 20X more productive comes out of thin air. I would counter with another out-of-thin-air guess it's more like 5% more productive, based upon using CoPilot and ChatGPT. I don't expect GPT4, 5 to be a step-function more revolutionary. Now on the other hand, combine an LLM with some other software I'm not aware of yet...that's a possibility.
