I purchased a robot hand (“Randy the Handy”) from temu (linkerbot) and an associated arm. I will be teaching it to write. I am also right handed and I am trying to learn to write with my left hand. In 2 months I will have a write-off between the hands and submit the results to impartial judgement. I will also post them here. If my left hand wins it’s a YES and if the robot hand wins it’s a NO
Update 2025-02-28 (PST) (AI summary of creator comment): Final Evaluation Requirement:
The robot hand will be allowed to train in simulation as a preliminary step.
Final evaluation must be performed in real life, not in simulation.

Not trying to get an insight here for winnings (ive closed my position) but with all the delays that have happened now with the robot arms have you delayed or lessened your practicing with your left arm or has that continued as it was before? I would wager that if you were still practicing as you were when the timeline was so much shorter this would be a lock for the human left to win, no?
Update: canceled the order on my robot hand to get a better robot hand. https://www.trossenrobotics.com/widowx-ai may arrive sooner. costs a lot more.
@tftftftftftftftftftftftf doesn’t switching the hand make this a very different market?
Edit: nvm I am confused about how this is more expensive than the other price you quoted. Unclear how different it is.
@LiamZ this one is more expensive cause it comes with a bunch of accessories that cost a lot. It’s also a lot better quality according to my sources
stuff made here made a hardwriting bot better than any forget! https://youtu.be/cQO2XTP7QDw?si=2TlAnK3L1kQW6hyC
@PaulHan tbh at this point we seem to be betting on whether it will even arrive in time for successful testing and setup.
@tftftftftftftftftftftftf will you extend the resolution date, NA, or resolve it to your left hand if the robot hand doesn't arrive in time?
Very cool! Can you please link the product?
I assume you will train the hand based on an input/recording of your own hand movement, not independently of it, right?
@redcat I won’t link the product cause I am worried everyone else will order a hand too but I will dm it to you
@tftftftftftftftftftftftf I won't order it, but I'd be interested in it's capabilities. Is it the RH56DFX or something cheaper?
@tftftftftftftftftftftftf What would you describe as the training methods used? Mostly in terms of the robot's method, that is, but I suppose the hand matters too.
