Will I be able to type at 45wpm with only my left hand by 2025-10-29

When I started college, I learned dvorak over about two months. I want to learn left handed dvorak, mainly because many video games require a mouse and it would be nice to be able to be able to fully use a keyboard with only one hand for that use case.

I think that markets like this are kind of stupid because how could other people know, unless they take it upon themselves to encourage me? But having it around will encourage me to bet on it and achieve it.

Below is my second attempt on level 2 at [ditchqwerty](https://www.ditchqwerty.com/), though if I give up lhdvorak and choose to learn qwerty itself or something this will also resolve YES. Resolves YES if I get a single attempt at any typing tutor using only my left hand at that speed, without a cheat sheet.

I'll bet only YES on this market, and try to post regular updates.

This is my speed at dvorak on monkeytype

EOD with no cheat sheet

@MagnusAnderson

This was with a cheatsheet for most of it, being the first time I went up to level 4: I wrote some CSS to hide it when not moused over; apparently it didn't come out in the screenshot.

My plan is to do one new level per day until I can get all words, and then switch over to it for some tasks on my computer.

now that i can type arbitrary letters with one hand, this market is mainly about whether i will achieve the neccessary speed. Right now, I'm definitely not even close; with typing even only level 1 cdthea, i am about 25wpm, while the market requires 45wpm. I often forget and mistype keys still, so there is a good amount that basic practice will continue to help

@MagnusAnderson

Made consistent +1wpm each attempt at level 1 (cdthea) from 26 to 30. Though improving accuracy somehow didn't affect speed much, I went from about 90%, 85%, 90%, 90%, 98% accuracy with +1wpm each time.

Quite consistent trend, 2 more attempts

Apparently, I cannot trust the wpm of this tutor website and must use monkeytype when I actually make attempts at succeeding this. Because it counts incorrect characters in your wpm score, see test below (noticed above two pictures had same exact time lol)

@MagnusAnderson Starting to think that I should never have bet YES because 45wpm is very fast and 35 is about what I'll get to if I practice really hard. Though I don't think I was as fast as I could be even on level 1, so there's a chance

I do keep getting faster though, even when I feel like I'm doing terribly
