Resolution criteria
This market will resolve to the candidate who receives the most votes in the Democratic primary for Utah's 1st Congressional District, currently scheduled for June 23, 2026. The result will be determined by the official certified vote totals provided by the Utah Lieutenant Governor's Office or the Utah Elections Division. The market will resolve to the name of the winner, or to "Other" if a candidate not listed in the market options wins the primary.
Background
Following a 2025 court ruling that required the adoption of a new U.S. House map in Utah, the 1st Congressional District was redrawn to include a significant portion of Salt Lake County and is widely viewed by election analysts as a Democratic-leaning seat.
The Democratic primary features a crowded field of candidates. As of late April 2026, candidates qualify for the primary ballot by either gathering 7,000 valid petition signatures or by advancing through the Democratic Party of Utah's nominating convention. Ben McAdams, a former U.S. Representative, and State Senator Nate Blouin have been among the prominent candidates in the field. Other candidates who have made the ballot include Michael Farrell and Liban Mohamed.
Unless there's any lawsuits or last-minute changes. This looks to be the field for the primary. https://www.sltrib.com/news/politics/2026/04/25/utah-democratic-party-convention/
