If this resolves based on a poll then we can expect a strong sample bias in favor of YES. People who don’t care about/don’t know the user are unlikely to volunteer themselves for that poll. The people who do participate will be either sympathetic or (hopefully rarely) resentful.

On the other hand, I think most people would be saddened anyway.
