I guess he’s a free agent

cause I only expect him to sign elsewhere towards the end of free agency (say July 3rd to July 6th) making him defacto still a laker tomorrow even though he announced he’s leaving

@ChinmayTheMathGuy I believe the new league year starts at midnight of June 30/July 1 and all expiring contracts cease to be in effect. He will be a free agent for at least 5 days because free agents can't be signed until July 6.

how does this resolve if he hasn't signed a contract anywhere for the 26-27 season yet

@Tripping July 1st is during the moratorium, so there's a good chance he won't technically be a Laker at that time even if he subsequently resigns with them. @strutheo
