description of X1 Robotics:
An engineering student group at UCLA with a 30+ team of undergrads led by Avi Gerber and Matthew Guemmer.
description of the medical robots:
We're building two medical robots — one for delivery tasks, "Micro," and one to assist surgical technicians, "Macro" — to streamline distribution of medical instruments and biomaterials (urine, blood, tissue, etc) from central hospital departments to surgeons hands.
more in-depth description of the project here.
my rough estimate of the base rate for X1 Robotics completing proofs of concept after talking about the projects with the club leads within 1 year is about 60%.
disclosure: i'm making this market and others under the X1 Robotics tag for a friend of mine in X1 Robotics.
