Counting estimated marketing costs, which usually aren't included in reported budgets?

Could you add a bit more clarification on the resolution criteria?

  • Is "break even" just defined as "total global box office" (when GxK leaves theaters) > "total reported budget"?

  • Reported budgets don't have a single official source. What source will you prioritize for the reported budget? (I.e. if different sources report different values). And if no budget is reported?

@Ziddletwix

Yes break even is just if the film makes more total global box office then reported budget

I will use the most reliable report on the budget I can find and i don’t think we need to worry about a budget not being reported because its a pretty big release

@qwertykeep By that definition, this market can resolve yes (already after the weekend, although of course it will be trivial as the global total continues to grow).

The current consensus budget estimate is $135M by Deadline .

Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire cost a net of $135M before P&A, 75% funded by Legendary, with Warner Bros covering 25%.

Given enough time, you might find other budget reports (there always are), but this is the current consensus. E.g. Variety just quoted the same budget as well ($135M).

While GxK is going to trivially gross several times that amount (or a much higher amount), after opening weekend its global total is already $194M. So this can already resolve YES (even if GxK will continue to gross several hundred million more)
